At the Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2026, our lab members organized and participated in several symposia:
The symposium “Drivers and Deterrents of Inclusive, Age-Diverse Workplaces: New Perspectives and Insights” was organized by Irina Gioaba (Kean University), Julian Pfrombeck, and Naizan Xu.
The symposium “New Insights on Career Transitions across the Lifespan” was organized by Naizan Xu and Julian Pfrombeck. Our discussant was Sherry Sullivan (Bowling Green State University). Naizan presented a review paper co-authored by Julian Pfrombeck and Andreas Hirschi (University of Bern) that synthesizes research on the role of social relationships in career transitions titled “No Person Is an Island: A Systematic Review of Social Relationships in Career Transitions.”
Julian Pfrombeck presented the conceptual paper “The Disadvantage Double Bind: How One’s Range of Acceptable Behavior Keeps People in Their Place” co-authored by Adam Galinsky (Columbia University), Chloe Levin (Columbia University), Joe Magee (New York University), and Derek Rucker (Northwestern University) in the symposium “Power and the Politics of Voice: How Hierarchy Shapes the Expression and Consequences of Voice,” organized by Huisi Jessica Li (University of Washington) and Zeren Li (University of Washington). Our discussant was Ethan Burris (University of Texas at Austin).
